Investment Seminar Event In Shangrila Hotel is Suck!!!! Old Techniques, Bad advices, Another Conspiracy From Banks and Investment Companies

Yesterday I went to a seminar program event in Shangrila Hotel. Well actually that was not a investment seminar, it was a mutual fund promotion program from some investment companies outside and inside Indonesia. These investment companies were working together with local banks to attracted the big client of the banks.

Like other promotion programs I was attended before, big smile every where, good snack, delicious cake, optimist talk show, etc. I little surpissed because in this program, I saw many old man and old woman in there. Few years ago only young man curious with stock market, but today oldies also interested playing in stock market. What going on !!!!!!!!!! look silly but it’s true. Madness in stock market.The speaker of a session, an economist or fund manager I don’t know, spoke like a tarzan in stock market. He said, ”The bull market will not last forever, the bear maket also not last forever. I said this two years ago In Singapore.” I was thinking, two years ago people like him encouraged investors putted their money in stock market, even the market already hot. They didn’t care, they said “evertything okay, the market still goes up.” Suddenly in 2008 September, the stock market collapsed, and investor lost their money and their future for retire when they old. But today, he deny and say, ”The bull market will not last forever, the bear maket also not last forever. I said this two years ago In Singapore” he continued, “It’s time to enter the market. Buy mutual fund. Buy many financial product to minimize the risk, bond, index, gold, oil, etc. blab bla bla.” Rubbish !!!!!!!!!!!! IF you believe this advice, why not asking to Lehman Brothers customer. Hard to believe how fast people forget what happen in 2008, when they were following the same advice.

And what made me sick is? I read their portofolio in their financial report of a product a years ago. They were investing in bad company, the company cannot make a profit, their lose 60 billion rupiah a year, cannot give dividend but they called the financial report of dividend mutual fund product. HOW this happen??? I asked their sales person, she was answering, “Actually we don’t care about the profit of the company, as long as their stock will go up, we will buy.” WHAT A CRAZY FUND MANAGER !!!!!!!!!!

Why I don’t like buy mutual fund and invest Indonesia stock market? They only way to make money only when the price go up, cannot make money when the price go down. For me, it’s risky. Since crisis in 2008, government not allowed to short in stock market. Others is, I really don’t know how to analysis the value of a stock from their financial report. This companies audited with a weak method audit and I doubt reputation audit companies from Indonesia. Once again I don’t want put my money in Indonesia stock market. But I don’t close opportunity to invest my money in good Indonesia company.

All about the event was trading in stock market and timming the market. The fund manager will buy the stock at any price even too expensive, as long they get fee from the companies. That’s like buy Honda Jazz in Honda Accord price. Or buy broken Honda Accord with new price. CRAZY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Better talking and watching this cake, than talking and watching Indonesia stock market.
